Your role is to ensure managers have the tools and advice to be able to competently handle a range of people related issues such as discipline, grievance, appeals, sickness management, restructuring, redundancies, TUPE transfers, succession planning, change management, grading, reward and benefits. You will effectively manage HR information and data, making suggestions for new ways of working.
You must have experience over a number of years in HR Administration and/or graduate CIPD and have the ability to demonstrate expertise in one or more of the 10 core competencies in accordance with the HR professionals map for appointment at Grade 8. Those with more in depth HR experience (in accordance with the JD) will be considered for appointment at Grade 10.
You must be able to develop professional working relationships in which you feel confident to support and challenge and inform decision making in relation to people issues. The issues can be specific to one person or alternatively impact on a number of people and their employment with the Council.
HR strives to provide an excellent service to our customers therefore you must be committed to developing an understanding of the services you support and consider this context when offering innovative and feasible solutions to the range of often complex and diverse people related issues.
Hull Culture & Leisure employees can apply for Hull City Council posts as internal applicants. However, this is regarded as a break in service for Statutory Employment Protection including redundancy purposes and the calculation of service for this purpose will start afresh.
The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
