We have a small team of dedicated professionals who work together to make this vision a reality.  We are looking for a new member of that team to bring their enthusiasm, passion and expertise in health and safety to enhance our service offer to the Council.   We would be particularly interested in health and safety professionals with experience of supporting Children's young people's and adults services, although that is not an essential requirement.

The job requires you to provide a professional, high level responsive and effective advisory service on health and safety legislation, policies, procedures, risk assessments and safe working procedures to meet service requirements. working closely with your colleagues in Occupational Health and HR to promote workplace wellbeing and encourage good health.  Bring your expertise and specialism in the design, development and implementation of health and safety intervention. Therefore ensuring cost-effective health and safety solutions, which are both proactive and responsive to customer needs.   Positively engaging with managers, staff  and elected members  to reduce and manage risks and the impact these have on people.

Applying your knowledge and expertise to develop learning and development interventions in relation to health and safety.   

It is essential that you are fully qualified and have experience of being a "competent" person in relation to health and safety for a sizable organisation.  Health and Safety NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is a pre requisite together with evidence of continuing professional development and/or membership of professional body, i.e. IOSH (minimum TechSP demonstrable evidence of working towards CMIOSH or IIRSM (minimum MIIRSM) and other memberships as appropriate.  Experience of OHSAS 18001/ISO 14001 and 9001.
