A £25 million pound investment into the city of Hull, The DoubleTree by Hilton will provide a 24-hour full service facility complete with 165 bedrooms, meeting space for up to 1,000 delegates, three conference rooms, a ballroom which can be divided into five meeting spaces and a large breakout area. Food and beverage outlets will include a branded restaurant, rooftop bar and lobby cafe.

Due to this exciting new addition to the city we are currently seeking a full time Meeting and Events Office Manager to be responsible for and oversee the day to day running of the meeting and events office and team.

The role

This is a re-active sales role, focussed on Meetings & Events business reporting directly into the Director of Sales & Marketing, whose main objective will be to drive overall sales and revenue for the hotel. The Meetings & Events Sales Office Manager will be focused on building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential Meetings & Events clients, local and national. Ensuring a professional approach with all contacts.

The Meetings & Events Sales Office Manager will manage a team of 2 Meetings & Events Co-ordinators. All using multiple channels of communication to ensure meetings & events enquiries are responded to within given timeframes. Meetings & Events business varies from Corporate Conference, Exhibitions to private celebrations, Weddings, Tribute Nights, and Christmas packages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize Meeting & Events revenue and profit through effective diary management, commercial pricing & the setting of selling strategies
  • Ensure Hotel best practice standards are implemented throughout the department to the highest of standards
  • Recruit, manage, train and development the Meeting & Events Team to ensure they have the required skills and knowledge to deliver their role to the highest of standards
  • Ensure the Meeting & Events Sales Team are accurately tracking all events business and packages and prepared for monthly reporting at Hotel Business Review.
  • Ensure Meeting & Events facilities and services are accurately marketed in line with company brand standards. Produce offers to support business needs, supported by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
  • Monitor and work with operations to deliver excellent customer service throughout the customer journey
  • Monitor hotel, brand and industry reports to ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction are achieved
  • Manage customer feedback, dealing with complaints to ensure the highest levels of problem resolution is achieved
  • Maintain consistent and effective communication with the Hilton Global M&E Team & M&E Agents

Required skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 2 year experience in a Meetings & Events role
  • Minimum of 2 year experience in a hotel or Meetings and Events venue.
  • Ideally from a branded background, within the Hilton portfolio is an advantage
  • Full UK Driving License is ideal
  • Knowledge of CRM systems is preferred
