A £25 million pound investment into the city of Hull, The DoubleTree by Hilton will provide a 24-hour full service facility complete with 165 bedrooms, meeting space for up to 1,000 delegates, three conference rooms, a ballroom which can be divided into five meeting spaces and a large breakout area. Food and beverage outlets will include a branded restaurant, rooftop bar and lobby cafe.

Due to this exciting new addition to the city we are currently seeking a full time Revenue Manager to be responsible for and oversee the day to day running of the rooms revenue department.

The role

To maximise total revenue, market share and profits through the strategic development and the deployment of revenue driving activities. Utilising all revenue management tactic, processes and procedures. Responsible for driving total revenue through accommodation, liaising with meetings and events team, whilst supporting the revenue strategy in Food & Beverage sectors. Ensuring alignment of Hilton brand policy, revenue management, sales and marketing.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the Sales Manager and all department Heads.

To ensure the highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated. To complete all relevant procedures in relation to the respective department as laid down by Leaf Hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • To develop and drive revenue strategies to optimise all available space through all distribution channels.
  • Working with Hilton Revenue team (RMCC) to analysis data, and prepare pricing strategies for all segments of the hotels business, ensuring these are based on sound commercial judgement, and effective analysis.
  • Ensure professional and efficient utilisation of all systems, in line with company best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure effective information gathering and analysis is conducted in order to identify and maximise on all possible opportunities and minimise any risks.
  • Ensure that all team members are actively engaged in all revenue decisions by maintaining regular communication to effectively implement, drive and review strategies and controls.
  • Manage and develop team of Reservations (Rooms) and support Meeting & Events teams.
  • Integrate with other functions to ensure we exceed our customers and owners expectations.
  • Effectively lead, manage, train and develop the Reservations (Rooms) co-ordinator, ensuring consistently high levels of motivation and performance.
  • Manages and maintains Group and Transient inventory controls
  • Pro-actively reviews and implements room accommodation and rate inventory controls via OnQ / R&I, daily, weekly & monthly.
  • Work with Front Office to ensure agreed Sell to Capacity strategies are in place.
  • Maintains rate parity with third party sites through extranet sites.
  • Proactively reviews key demand periods to maximise RevPAR and profit through effective consideration of costs of sales.
  • Develops, monitors and adjusts sales and pricing strategies
  • Engaging all departments and conducting daily, weekly and Monthly analysis of the markets performance.
  • To provide a synopsis of results vs. direction from the previous week and lead discussion on future issues such as booking pace, pricing strategies, marketing opportunities and the competitive environment.
  • Drive, develop and review transient and group pricing, supported by demand calendars as part of the daily & weekly Hilton Revenue Calls.
  • Reviews corporate account production monthly with Director of Sales to identify patterns & volume of production and agree appropriate actions
  • Attend morning communication meeting to highlight results, trends and changes to pricing and selling strategies.
  • Prepares weekly, monthly, 3 month forecast and budget using appropriate systems and tools.
  • Uses specialist knowledge of the hotels and markets to produce and maintain hotel forecasts using Hilton & leaf HOSPITALITY tools, weekly and monthly.
  • To drive the preparation and presentation of the annual budget process linked with the General Manager & Director of Sales.

Required skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Revenue Management role
  • Minimum of 1 year Hotel experience.
  • Ideally from a branded background, within the Hilton portfolio is an advantage
  • Full UK Driving License is ideal
  • Knowledge of CRM systems is preferred
