Humberside Fire Authority is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced executive to lead Humberside Fire and Rescue Service into the future, following the retirement of its current Chief. The role will offer the opportunity to make a major contribution to the changing shape of fire and rescue services at a local, regional and national level.
Contract Type: Salary up to £139, 528 + car

The Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive will be accountable to the Fire Authority for the discharge of its statutory obligations, as well as for leading and developing a highly effective and trusted service. The Chief Fire Officer/Chief Executive must have an established track record of delivering successful and innovative change.
The position requires a person of exceptional calibre with proven strategic leadership and improvement experience within a similar organisation and with the commensurate high level skills. Your advanced interpersonal skills and political awareness will enable you to engage effectively with the Fire Authority, staff, representative bodies and external partners. Educated to Post Graduate level in a relevant field, you will demonstrate the gravitas and credibility to take the Service with you on its journey, with innovation, leadership, dependability and passion.
The remuneration package reflects the high calibre of individual that the Authority is attempting to attract, and a relocation package is available. You will be expected to assume the role of Principal Officer within a multi-agency “Gold Command” setting and assume responsibility for the strategic management of the Service during a major emergency. For those who have the appropriate skills, who are from a non-operational/fire background and who wish to apply, appropriate training for the “Gold Command” will be given.
