Salary: £26,000 pa
Closing Date: Friday, 8 September 2017
You will be a creative thinker who will relish the challenge of Digital Transformation in an industry which has traditionally been very slow to adapt. You will work for and be well-supported by the Digital Design & Process Automation Advisor, providing valuable support & insight gained from your experience & studies in Information Management.
Duties will include;
Help develop & apply new Information Management tools & processes.
Be given responsibility for Project Information Models (PIM) being used on live (and sometimes stressful) engineering projects.
Ensure that PIM’s are well-maintained to a high level of data-quality.
Ensure that PIM’s fully comply with Project Information Requirements.
Become capable of harnessing PIM’s to answer a wide array of Plain Language Questions (PLQ’s).
Endeavour to maximise the number of PLQ’s that are answerable via the querying of PIM’s.
Actively listen out for PLQ’s being asked on projects, working out & showing others how to harness the PIM to provide evidence enabling fact-based decision-making on projects.
Gauge success in your role by how much easier you are making the typical working days of project members such as Engineers, Technicians & Design Managers.
Work thoughtfully & systematically, whilst still achieving a high throughput & quality-of-work.
Help develop, write & give training on the new tools & processes.
Not be drawn into existing ways-of-working and legacy projects where you have no say in the tools, processes & approach.
Occasionally be asked to work on tasks from other departments & functions, and in those cases contribute to coming up with novel approaches that tie back in with best-practice Information Management techniques and your other strands of responsibility
Our ideal candidates will have;
Strong numerical, analytical and discursive abilities.
Systems thinker – interested not only in completing a task well, but completing it in a way that is then repeatable in an automated & consistent way.
Knows, or is willing to learn about – and is happy to apply day-to-day – the theory & fundamentals of accurate bulk data-entry & processing.
On-top-of modern tech/web trends and keen to research & apply new tools to the Information Management tasks you will face.
Creative, organised and full of initiative & self-motivation.
Proactive, positive, and someone who gets things done.
Willing to relocate to Hull (City of Culture 2017) for the year.
