With the support of our customers, ABP’s Ports on the Humber – Hull, Goole, Grimsby and Immingham - contribute £2.2 billion to the UK economy every year.
The Humber ports support 33,000 jobs and together handle more than 65 million tonnes of cargo.
Immingham is currently the UK's largest port by volume and in 2017 Hull will be home to one of the UK's largest port developments; the £310 million Green Port Hull project with Siemens.
The Port of Immingham offers an extensive range of roro and lolo freight services to Northern Europe, Scandinavia, and the Baltic.
Although retaining its strong connection with the fishing and food industry, Grimsby is the UK's major car import terminal and is at the forefront in serving the developing offshore wind energy industry.
Grimsby River Terminal can accommodate vessels carrying up to 3,000 vehicles and the port handles more than 500,000 vehicles each year as both imports and exports.
We require a Fitter to ensure Port Operations are maintained as required in a safe and cost effective manner utilising company policies and procedures. The Fitter will undertake the day-to-day mechanical maintenance and repair of the ports infrastructure and ensure that allocated work tasks are completed in line with expectations and undertaken in a safe manner whilst minimising cost and waste.
The Fitter will update the Engineering Supervisor on allocated work tasks and assist with the pre-planning of work to allow the department to perform efficiently.
