OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:


To provide administrative and professional support for recruitment, training and development,
employee relations and the HR Information system.


Bishop Burton College includes the Riseholme College campus and the postholder may be required
to carry out duties at both campuses.


The following list of duties and responsibilities is not meant to be exclusive. It should be taken as an
indicator of the type and level of activity expected of this post. The list does not represent either
priorities or frequency of tasks and should be regularly updated by the post holder in consultation with
and agreement of their line manager.


MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


1 Co-ordinate the use of the HR Information System including inputting; reviewing the accuracy of
the information it contains; running regular and ad-hoc reports and ensuring all processes support
the maximum use of the system.


2 Co-ordinate staff development processes including induction; probation; personal development
reviews (PDRs); and internal and external training.


3 Co-ordinate and develop the use of the online training system.


4 Co-ordinate the recruitment process including placing adverts; processing invoices; DBS and preemployment
checks; requesting references; arranging short-listing and interview packs; booking rooms and hospitality; contacting candidates and managers; and producing offer letters and contracts.

 

5 Support managers on the management of sickness cases in accordance with the College’s
absence management policies and procedures.


6 Support managers where appropriate on disciplinary, grievance, and capability cases.


7 Support various HR processes including maternity and paternity leave and other forms of special
leave; other terms and conditions of employment.


8 Provide information to managers and staff about HR policies, procedures and processes.


9 Ensure all confidential information is kept securely.


10 Maintenance of manual and electronic filing systems and the provision of cover in the absence of
other team members.


11 Take part in all-staff College events such as Lambing Sunday and Open Farm Sunday.
