Due to this exciting new addition to the city we are currently seeking a full time Bar Manager to manage the day to day operations of the exclusive roof top bar.

The role & successful candidate

Reporting into the hotel Operations Manager, this role has the responsibility and accountability for every aspect of the bar service. This role will oversee the bar team and be accountable for their training, continual development and compliance with brand standards. This role will also be responsible for the stock rotation, ordering and waste control of the department ensuring that all stock items are accounted for. With a commercial eye, this role will take a lead on social media, marketing and promotion of the bar ensuring the bar is up to date with all market trends and acts as the leader in innovative beverage concepts.

The successful candidate will come from a cocktail bar background and have a strong understanding of what it takes to successfully operate a busy high-end bar. The candidate will be creative with a true passion for developing innovative and exciting beverage offerings and will be confident using social media to market the bar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily, weekly and monthly forecasting for the bar
  • Managing and producing staff rotas in line with payroll budget
  • Stock and wastage control and control over ordering all products necessary to carry out the bar operation
  • Liaising and communicating with suppliers continually monitoring prices ensuring the bar is receiving competitive price offerings within the market place
  • Responsible for promoting the bar culture ensuring that the right attitude is displayed by the bar team and positive energy is displayed during each shift
  • Responsible for continuous and strong relations with all other hotel departments
  • Line management responsibilities, promoting and facilitating the ongoing development of the bar team. Carrying out regular reviews and 1:1 with team members
  • Accountable for the social media and marketing output of the bar ensuring the bar has its own identity within the hotel and is promoting this effectively within the market place
  • Management of the bar booking system, email correspondence, and response to social media feedback platforms
  • Monitoring of customer feedback, implementing change and training exercises with the team and product where appropriate
  • Responsible for the financial takings of the bar ensuring the team are compliant and up to date with all cash handling procedures
  • Overall accountability for the bars performance during any internal and external auditing. Including branded and group mystery guest visits. Monitoring of results and carrying out feedback and training with the team where needed
  • Responsible for the on-going training for the team, ensuring the team are up to date with all food hygiene and other mandatory branded or group training
  • Continual review of the bars food and beverage offerings. Ensuring the bar offerings are up to date and relevant with current trends in the market place and the leader in innovative ideas using social media to promote this
  • Hands on approach to the running of the bar, ensuring presence on the floor during all key periods of service
  • Attendance during all required hotel operations meetings
  • Producing reports, data and information for the accounts team or business reviews
  • Taking a key role in the planning and execution of bar based events throughout the year and ensuring table service is offered and manageable during key times
  • Handling any escalated customer complaints or queries in a swift and professional manner
  • Adhere to the employee handbook and all company policies and procedures

  • Minimum of 2 year experience in Bar Manager role
  • Must have experience within a cocktail bar environment


  • Previous management within a high-end bar environment
  • Previous experience within a hotel environment
