We are seeking an experienced Finance & Audit professional to undertake the role of HIP Finance & Audit Officer who will work with other members of the Central Team and the HIP delivery team to ensure the project delivers an effective business-facing service meeting ESF contract requirements. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with other members of the team to ensure effective management of the finances for the HIP Programme, including budgeting, financial processes, reporting and audits (working in conjunction with the University’s finance and audit staff and in liaison with the Department for Work & Pension (DWP) as the Managing Authority);
  • Accurate and methodical financial record keeping and data management (paper based and electronic) to ensure compliance with funder requirements and audit scrutiny; 
  • Provision of detailed and timely financial information to ensure efficient and prompt decision making;
  • Administration of agreements with SMEs;
  • Maintenance of the projects’ record keeping and data management to ensure compliance with funder requirements and audit scrutiny, including data on project outputs and results and procurement compliance;
  • Responsible for the efficient handling of financial claims within the projects, ensuring accuracy checks are made, costs are evidenced and appropriate records are maintained. 

The position is fixed term as outlined in the Job Description, with the possibility of extension subject to funding and project requirements.
