Role Responsibility

Your base will be in Hull but you will be expected to work in different communities across East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire getting to know people, building up trust, uncovering stories and helping to bring them to life for TV, social media and online.

You'll find great stories and you'll learn how to tell them for different BBC outlets including BBC Look North.

Are you the right candidate?

We need someone who understands and cares about East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.  You'll have good knowledge of the different communities that make up our vibrant and diverse area and you'll have the passion and energy needed to build up relationships and get unheard stories onto TV.

You'll know what makes an interesting story and you'll know what gets people talking. Some journalism or broadcast experience is helpful, especially skills in making digital video but this isn’t essential.  There is a formal job description attached to this advert, but what’s most important is that you have a passion for telling stories and care about getting those stories to a BBC audience.  Other skills in the job description we can help you learn.

IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION

In addition to your online application via Careers Hub, please provide: two story ideas (Max 500 words) from East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire which you think should be covered by BBC Look North.  We really want to hear stories about people and/or communities that we don’t already see on air. Please upload to https://www.dropbox.com/request/wsek08aCBOFTRpF145U2?oref=e no later than this role's closing date. Applications without story ideas will not be considered.
