This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to contribute to raising the profile of the region to attract investment and talent. You’ll be part of a small team, so you’ll have the opportunity to shape our activity and identify opportunities to work with our member businesses to raise the profile of Hull & the Humber.

The Organisation:

Bondholders is a powerful network of businesses dedicated to the promotion of the Humber region. These companies range from major multi-nationals to start-ups and fast-growing entrepreneurial businesses who have committed to being ambassadors and help the Humber region punch its weight against competing locations. 

In the next two years, the UK’s Energy Estuary will continue to be firmly in the spotlight, as many investments come to fruition and Hull moves into building the legacy from the activities of Hull 2017 as the UK’s City of Culture.  It is a crucial time for Bondholders to maximise opportunities that lie ahead. By developing the profile and reputation of the Humber amongst key audiences, we can help the region attract further investment and fill jobs with the best candidates to create a thriving environment for our businesses to operate.

The role:

  • You’ll lead on the online presence for the BondholderScheme, keeping news just a click away from an investor thinking of bringing jobs to the region, as well keeping the leaders and employees of the Humber informed of new developments.   This will require a strong level of copy-writing and first class, professional marketing communications.
  • You will be required to develop websites, including the marketinghumber website, working with external agencies to keep it innovative, creative and user friendly.  This goes hand in hand with the maintenance of information on a daily basis, posting news and creating case studies.
  • Integrated communications will be at the heart of everything you do. From online to print, from creating displays to running social media campaigns, you will promote the opportunities of the Humber through all your marketing materials.
  • You’ll build close relations with key contacts in order to deliver joint communications on behalf of the Humber.
  • You’ll be an ambassador for the Humber and identify opportunities for us to build more advocates.
  • We’re a very small team, so sometimes you’ll be doing a little bit of everything.  This will include reporting, ensuring our contact database is up to date and supporting event management during peak times of activity.

Essential capabilities/experience:

  • Experience in copywriting and a compelling track record in delivering engaging and impactful communications, from websites, email communications, event promotion to 140 character tweets.
  • Experience using cms and crm systems.
  • Experience working with and briefing third party service providers and agencies to deliver marketing materials to plan.
  • The ability to build relationships with colleagues and business leaders alike, with a confidence to influence and shape the programme of delivery.
  • Minimum 2 yrs experience in a marketing and/or communications role 

Desirable capabilities/experience:

  • Experience of digital design would be beneficial
  • Experience of creating professional social media communications
  • Experience of operating within a client-facing environment

Additional requirements:

  • Driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to work flexibly to provide support for events; some early morning and late evening work is occasionally required.
