Responsibilities may include :

  • Resource for support to the Refinery
  • Carrying out plating activities safely and to the required standard
  • Assisting in production of specifications
  • Supervising field work to ensure correct installation
  • Prioritising field activities to ensure effective use of time
  • Assisting in the planning of plate work and structural fabrication
  • Ensuring all Quality Assurance /Quality Control requirements are followed and the replacement scope of works is completed as per requirements
  • Production of engineering drawings for plate and piping field repairs
  • Co-ordinating and driving contract resources involved in overhauls


Basic/Required :

  • Legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions
  • Discipline qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Full, valid UK driving licence
  • Understanding of welding techniques and set up requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in plate fabrication and installation
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Effective time manager
  • Team player

Preferred :

  • Previous experience using petrochemical equipment (Columns, Exchangers,Heaters)
  • Previous experience in planning and scoping works
  • Previous Quality Assurance experience in plating packages

The only coking refinery in the UK and the world's largest producer of speciality graphite cokes and the largest anode coke producer in Europe.
