Key responsibilities

To carry out engineering project work to meet the Vivergo Fuels portfolio of approved projects and to carry out pre-project justifications, FEEDs, HAZOPs, as necessary. The role is to work within the project team to deliver projects as owner and / or Mechanical engineer of a multi-disciplined project.


Desirable knowledge, skills and experience required

  • The incumbent will be required to interpret and mark-up drawings (GA’s, ISO’s & P&ID’s) and manage Mechanical work whilst closely interfacing with Electrical, Instrument, Control and Process Safety Engineers.
  • The incumbent will be fully aware of applicable UK legislative requirements and best practice and fully integrate themselves with Vivergo Engineering Projects and Engineering Maintenance teams.
  • The incumbent will have the confidence and knowledge to work unaided, whilst exercising discretion when requiring support from internal and 3rd party subject technical authorities.
  • The incumbent will have a minimum of 10 years postgraduate experience.

  • Materials handling experience is advantageous
  • Rotating equipment experience is advantageous
  • Experience of working in a similar position on a large-scale manufacturing site (a COMAH site would be advantageous)
  • Experience (and an appreciation) of working in Classified areas (vapour and dusts). A functional understanding of DSEAR Regulations and ATEX is advantageous.
  • A functional understanding of CDM Regulations is advantageous.
  • Track record of delivery proven over several years and will be fully familiar with applicable legislative requirements.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline (or be able to demonstrate equivalent technical knowledge via work experience and other applicable technical qualifications).
  • Chartered Engineer (or have the necessary qualifications and experience to register).
  • The role requires good verbal, written and presentation skills, in order to be able to communicate effectively at all levels
