We are looking for a strategic and analytical thinker, who is an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills to develop, influence and sustain effective working relationships with a wide range of agencies and organisations, regardless of levels of seniority. As Service and Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development, delivery and monitoring of the East Riding Economic and External Funding Strategies and managing public and partner consultation on these strategies.
  • Managing an effective and efficient External Funding service across the Council and partners, enabling compliance with the corporate Grants Policy and Grants Manual of Guidance.
  • Formulating and project managing service development and resource management initiatives on behalf of the Head of Economic Development & Communications and Group Managers, with a focus on increasing income and funding streams and developing joint working opportunities through, for example, the Social Value Engine (SVE) and consultancy services.
  • Commissioning and overseeing the statutory Local Economic Assessment and associated research and data, ensuring it is robust, accessible, up to-date and supports the evidence base of other local and sub-regional economic strategies.
  • Managing the provision of systems and procedures to support the Council’s Accountable Body role for Local Economic, Rural and Coastal Development programmes.
  • Formulating and presenting advice/recommendations to senior managers and Members and representing the Council/Economic Development & Communications service on relevant sub-regional and regional bodies/working groups.
