Role Overview:
Reporting to the M&E Team Leader and the Facilities Management (FM) Operations Team, the Gas Maintenance Technician (GMT) will be responsible for responding to all allocated planned and reactive plumbing/mechanical tasks across the Sewell Facilities property portfolio, this may include general maintenance and repairs to building fabric and associated equipment as well as providing cover for Facilities Officers and Building Managers during sickness and holiday periods. 
The Gas Maintenance Technician will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the team and take part in the out of hours on-call rota system.

Key Responsibilities:
• Reactive and planned maintenance for plumbing, mechanical, ventilation, air-conditioning, refrigeration and catering equipment
• Responding to all tasks for Sewell properties allocated by the Customer Care team
• General maintenance and repairs to building fabric and associated equipment as necessary 
• Occasional sickness and holiday cover for the on-site facilities officers and building managers
• Liaise with and manage external contractors as an when appropriate to meet the needs of the business
• Identification and reporting/repairing of defects and maintenance requirements within Sewell properties
• Be a main key holder to Sewell properties, including responding to emergency call outs as part of the on-call rota system
• Health & safety duties; ensuring that any property worked in or attended is operated in a safe and legally compliant manner at all times

Skills and Attributes:
As well as exhibiting the Sewell Behaviours, the successful person will have the following:
• Valid commercial gas qualifications
• Have a positive and professional attitude
• Be computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Have a proactive attitude towards maintaining buildings at a world class quality level
• Hold excellent communications skills and the ability to liaise with colleagues, tenant groups and subcontractors
• Possess good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a variety of tasks
• Possess a positive approach to learning, development and progression
• Have a flexible outlook towards hours worked (some out of hours working may be required)
• Have working knowledge of current Health and Safety practice 
• Hold a Valid UK Driving license 

• Valid domestic gas qualifications
• F-Gas certification and experience
• 17th Edition electrical certification and experience
• Valid qualifications for air-conditioning, refrigeration and catering equipment
• Have good maintenance skills and ability, outside of Gas experience
• Be First Aid at Work trained
