The Role

A vacancy has arisen for a Showground Manager to join the Marketing Team. Our showground manager is to be based at our purpose-built showground in Hull and is the front face of our business. You will meet and greet consumers in person, by phone and email to showcase how amazing our holiday homes and lodges are. Willerby do not sell directly to the public, so your job is to turn every enquiry into a lead and pass it on to our network of distributors across the UK.


You should be happy to work by yourself on weekends (full day Saturday and a half day Sunday), as well as with the marketing team for a further 2.5 days in the week (we close early on Fridays!). As this role involves weekend working, we have included a premium in the salary and a shorter working week, totalling 33 hours. Occasionally we may ask you to represent us at shows across the UK, so ability to be flexible is a must


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage consumer appointments for the Hull showground (meet & greet, show around product and follow up)
  • Develop knowledge on products, parks and distributors across the UK to provide a seamless service to consumers
  • Nurture leads through the buying process by contacting potential customers via email or phone to establish rapport and set up showground visits/events.
  • Research parks/distributors and consumers to identify new leads.
  • Support the marketing team with ideas to drive footfall to the showground via parks/dealers and consumers promotions.
  • Use the Lead Portal to manage consumer engagement (CRM system)
  • Ensure presentations and point of sale displays/materials are stocked and used correctly.
  • Ensure products have correct props and products and are always shown to their best.
  • In conjunction with the marketing team, contact consumers to inform them about new developments in our products (by phone and email).
  • Identify social media and PR opportunities and inform the marketing team.
  • Undertake other relevant tasks as required by the Head of Events
  • To liaise with Customer Services should any service or warranty issues come to light from visitors to the showground
  • Implement new marketing initiatives at the showground, including product previews, launches and events.
  • At times, attend trade shows with the marketing team across the UK.


Essential / Desirable Criteria


  • Experienced in telemarketing
  • Experienced in sales environments
  • Experience in marketing techniques, social media and implementing initiatives
  • Experience of being measured and monitored against set objectives
  • Experience of building relationships with a range of stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to use CRM databases
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely in writing or verbally
  • An understanding of confidentiality and Data Protection (GDPR) and willingness to be trained.
