The role will have overall management of the planning of our factories ensuring that there is a robust stockholding profile that balances the need for excellent service levels as well as factory efficiency and labour utilisation. The job holder will need to have great communication and influencing skills and be able to manage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities of a Planning & Demand Manager
Lead the demand and planning teams ensuring the team are working towards the agreed KPI’s, review and implement new KPI’s as required
Ensure the team are analysing and reporting demand trends to the business and identifying ways to improve accuracy
Maintain awareness of operational / supply chain variances to ensure adherence to budget
Constantly monitor demand accuracy on work cross functionally to improve
Ensure a high level of input into the consensus forecast
Working with the category team, maintain a high level understanding of the retail market and possible effects on forward demand
Ensure the overall capacity plan and the Supply Chain planner is implementing the best plan in respect to both stockholding levels as well as factory efficiency as well as labour utilisation
Maintain business awareness of any potential capacity / labour utilisation issues
Gain a full understanding of the distribution plan and that link through demand and supply
Attend and lead the Demand review meeting and also be the chair of the supply meeting
Review and evolve the supply / demand and planning system
Provide structured feedback to the demand and supply planning teams on forecast accuracy / supply accuracy and areas for improvement together with root cause analysis on misses.
Work cross functionally to identify improvements to current process with a view to attain higher levels of customer service / operational efficiency
Facilitate training to educate various parts of the business on the demand / planning process
Provide training to the supply chain planner / demand planner to ensure best practices are being followed
Maintain a CI approach to all activities and implement cost savings initiatives
Work with the business integration team to ensure the process is adhered to
Contribute to ensure NPD is delivered on time and in full
Build relationships with the supply base, resolve issues when elevated from the supply chain planner
Planning & Demand Manager Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role you will have:
Proven experience in successively challenging managerial leadership positions
Negotiation skills across a broad platform
Excellent analytical skillsets
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Capable of building and maintaining effective and trusting relationships as well as
Comfortable and capable of seeing the “big picture”; able to think conceptually and strategically, yet able to deliver concrete results
High energy and self-motivated, and confident of leading change
ERP\Preactor\FRM Knowledge preferred
Proven experience in Statistical Forecasting, Business Forecasting and communication to large teams and upper management.
Experience in and/or exposure to S&OP processes and procedures, customer planning and/or supply planning.
Experience in leading transformational projects
Pragmatic approach to problem solving in a timely fashion.
Positive/personable attitude at all times. Highly self-aware.
