The HEY Smile Foundation are delighted to be supporting Beverley Consolidated Charity to find their next Chief Executive officer (CEO), for their exciting development as a leading Charitable Housing provider in the Borough of Beverley.

Working with the board of trustees of Beverley Consolidated Charity, the journey to a new CEO began in the last six months, with a review of the charities resources, conversations with their range of stakeholders and vitally operational delivery and engagement with the charities existing team and beneficiaries.

This is an outstanding role for the ideal candidate, a chance to continue to shape the future of a hugely successful Housing Charity, Almshouse and landlord.   The charity’s properties are some of the best developed and maintained in the region, and the charity wants to continue to be at the forefront of quality housing and moving forward with support to residents to live not just exist in its accommodation.

With that in mind, and with Smile Foundations support, the charity is expanding its resources, its people, systems and activities. Any applicant for the CEO role should be prepared to not only lead outstanding practices to ensure the quality of our accommodation, but also be able to lead a team to research, secure and engage community based services that support our residents current and future needs.

Overall purpose of the Role

The Chief Executive will be responsible for leading our charity team to fulfil its core purpose. Being the strategic advisor to the board, and ensuring that the charity has a strong governance platform to enable the charity to focus on its beneficiary needs.

The board are looking for an inspirational leader who can empower people to achieve great things every day. Build outstanding partnerships across the private, public and voluntary sector and position us as a leader in quality affordable housing nationally.

Our resident’s desire is for a leader who is approachable and understanding of their needs inspires a culture that sees hearts used as well as heads when making decisions. An effective communicator who brings the voice of the residents to the forefront of the charities thinking in decision making.  

The ideal candidate will have experience of building a team, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration and be a confident communicator at a strategic and community level. Working with the board the Chief Executive will position the charity with key stakeholders regionally and nationally.

Above all we are searching for a leader who is passionate about improving services for older people. Our area of benefit has an aging population far above national averages. This growth out reaches our current portfolio of properties and we will need to think differently about current properties and future developments to meet the needs faced by our beneficiaries in both physical and mental health.

As our leader you will seek out new approaches, bring forward to the board new and innovative solutions, and stimulate partnerships to fulfil our purpose.
