Following a restructure and, with exciting plans for the future, the Board is expanding its Engineering and Infrastructure Department with a variety of roles. Could you be part of our success story as we approach our 40th anniversary?

As a result of the transformation, an excellent opportunity for a strong Facilities Manager has arisen.  You will be based at the Humber Bridge, Hessle, and be responsible for ensuring the Humber Bridge’s buildings, property and estate are maintained in a safe and service-able condition in line with the asset management plan and current legislation together with the health and safety of those who use and may be affected by the assets.

In this autonomous role you will be responsible ensuring the Humber Bridge adopts best practice in asset management principles together lifecycle planning and whole life costing. In addition, you will provide professional advice to the Senior Management Team, partners and stakeholders. You will also work collaboratively with your colleagues to develop and monitor the performance management of services and teams through the departmental business planning process to drive continuous improvement in the delivery of departmental outcomes.  

 To be considered for the role you will: 

  • Have achieved a minimum of HNC/HND or equivalent in one of the following disciplines:
  • Building services
  • Building surveying
  • Facilities management
  • Have the ability to reach all areas of the HBB estate and sites with the minimum of delay
  • Be able to demonstrate experience of facilities management for a building or estate
  • Have a working knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to this area
  • Have a strong commercial sense and understanding of contract work
  • Have substantial proven experience of managing/supervising staff with the ability to lead motivate and manage a team ensuring performance standards are met
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be able to demonstrate other relevant experience as detailed in the job description
