The successful candidate will be responsible for the mentoring and supervision of members of the Purchasing team ensuring that their targets and projects are delivered on time and to the business needs. The role will provide a single point of accountability for sourcing performance in relation to a commodity / sub-commodity area nominated to the role. A high degree of product focus, with an ability to drive through engineering based savings as well as the effective building of strategic relationships in order to ensure that suppliers remain competitive and drive cost down through continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and be CIPS qualified, have a minimum of 5 years in a purchasing/procurement role within a manufacturing environment and with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
