North Lindsey College have secured funding to develop the digital skills of foundation studies students through The Education and Training Foundation (ETF).

Funded through the EdTech project, the College recently secured £2,000 to develop digital skills.

The foundation’s goal is to support the FE workforce to gain the skills needed given the growing importance of digital skills. It has developed initiatives and services to help change the sector’s perception of new technologies and promote the use of EdTech and digital to enhance teaching, learning and assessment.

North Lindsey College has two member of staff that will be leading the project. Sabina Neall and Graeme Williams will focus on supporting staff developing their skills and experience digitally in the classroom.

The aim of the College is to improve IT and the use of apps to support independence in foundation students. Philip Whitehead, Digital Teaching and Learning Manager said, “I am very pleased to say we have had staff successful in the ETF bid for digital technologies. It shows just how committed we are to digital technology and the benefits this provides for students and staff in the learning Journey. Sabina and Graeme are huge of advocates of using digital technology to enhance learning and this funding will support them and the area to further embrace digital.”

In the future, the College hopes to work towards achieving the Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert accreditation, part of the Microsoft Innovative Educator Programs further developing its use of digital technology in the classroom.
